Student answer (Band 5.5)
Numerous working individuals barely perform any physical activities during the days they work or even in the lesiure time that results in their health issues. This is because people are becoming more lazy. However, there are a number of measures that could be taken to address these issues. Both the causes and solutions will be discussed in the following paragraphs.
One of the major cause is people are becoming lethargic. To explain, when individuals get free time after work, they priortize more to use mobile phones to scroll and watching movies instead of doing any sort of excercise. For example, After finishing work , most of the working adults like to go outside to eat junk food and watch movies that results in health problems as this food is not healthy and they prefer other activities like drinking alcohol instead of joining gyms. Therfore, people have heath problems as they are less concerned about their health.
In addition, to mitigate this issue, people should do yoga at their house. To explain, people should do yoga as it takes less time and helps people not only physically but also mentally as well. For example, people who are doing yoga in the morning feels more fresh and they are able to overcome their health problems like obesity and heart problems. As a result, individuals feel positive changes in the body that helps them to make their work efficiently.
In conclusion, people do not perform any exercise even if they have busy schedule or free time because of their laziness, yet this issue can be solved by doing activities like yoga.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development is somewhat limited. The argument that people are 'becoming lazy' is a broad generalization and lacks depth. The examples provided, such as 'drinking alcohol' or 'eating junk food', are relevant but are not fully connected to the broader societal or workplace pressures that typically cause inactivity. To reach a higher band, you should explore more nuanced factors like sedentary office culture, long working hours, or commuting stress. The solutions are also quite narrow, focusing almost exclusively on yoga, which limits the scope of the discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'For example', and 'In conclusion'. However, the progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition between the cause (laziness) and the example (eating junk food) is slightly disjointed. Additionally, some referencing is repetitive, and the use of cohesive devices could be more varied to improve the flow between sentences. The overall logical progression is present but could be more sophisticated.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You use some basic terms repeatedly, such as 'health problems' and 'people'. There are also some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'lesiure', 'priortize', and 'excercise'. While the meaning is clear, the vocabulary does not demonstrate the flexibility or the use of less common lexical items that would elevate the response. Focusing on synonyms and more precise collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('most of the working adults like... that results in', 'people who are doing yoga... feels more fresh'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring accuracy in basic grammar would improve your score.
