Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for inactivity and suggesting solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. The essay is also under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the depth of the response. While the position is clear, the arguments lack sufficient elaboration or specific examples beyond general statements. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the minimum word count requirement to allow for a fully developed discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'firstly', 'secondly', 'in addition'). There are also issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the phrase 'despite of having reasons,' which is grammatically incorrect and disrupts the flow. Paragraphing is present but the transition between ideas could be smoother. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified topic sentence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'more and more production' and 'do not get benefit' are simplistic. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'warmup exercise' instead of 'stretching' or 'physical activity,' and 'addicted of thing' instead of 'addicted to things.' To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise, academic vocabulary and collocations that sound more natural in a formal context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('our body are start getting'), incorrect verb forms ('do not getting'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces before commas and inconsistent capitalization at the start of sentences. While there is an attempt at complex sentence structures, they are often marred by errors. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve your score.
