Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'work pressure' and 'social media' as reasons, the explanation remains quite general. Similarly, the solutions—such as employers providing time for exercise—are relevant but could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of argument is consistent with a Band 5.5 or 6.0 level, as the ideas are presented rather than fully explored.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'In addition', 'However', and 'To sum up' to link your points. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences can feel slightly disjointed. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could benefit from more sophisticated linking words to improve the flow between the problem and the proposed solution.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You use some relevant terms like 'work pressure', 'obesity', and 'refreshment', but there are also instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'neoteric world' and 'they suffering from'. Some word choices are repetitive or slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding informal phrasing. The range is sufficient to communicate your meaning, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility or sophistication required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'human does not have', 'social media play', 'when individual have') and article usage. Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are fragmented or lack necessary articles. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and suggest a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic grammatical rules.
