Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for inactivity and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided (busy schedules, laziness, bad eating habits) are mentioned but not fully explored or supported with specific examples or logical depth. The solutions (exercise, joining a gym, avoiding fast food) are also presented in a somewhat superficial manner. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points by explaining the 'how' and 'why' more thoroughly. For instance, instead of just stating that people are busy, you could explain how modern sedentary office culture contributes to this lack of physical movement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by fragmented phrasing, such as 'Moreover, while sitting on bed and lack of movement of their body.' This makes the connection between ideas feel disjointed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next will significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'doing', 'good', 'bad', and 'serious'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'doing little bit exercise' instead of 'getting little exercise' or 'doing a bit of exercise'. The phrase 'feel sickness' is also unnatural; 'feel unwell' or 'suffer from health issues' would be more appropriate. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to health and lifestyle, and focus on using more precise verbs and adjectives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many of them doing nothing'), article usage (e.g., 'join Gym'), and sentence fragments (e.g., 'Moreover, while sitting on bed...'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence structures and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article placement.
