Student answer (Band 6.0)

In modern time, people can not get tiem for your own's life. Mnay employees spend little time or no time exercising , either during their working hours or in their leisure time. As a result, they are more likely to suffer from health problems. This essay will elucidate the main reasons for this issue and suggest several effective solution in the subsequent paragraphs.

To commence with, one major reason is the increasingly sedentary nature of modern work. To expand, many individuals spend the entire day sitting in front of computers, attending online meetings or commuting long distances by car. After working for eight ot more hours, they feel mentally and phsically exhausted, making exercise seem like an additional burden rather than an enjoyable activity. Furthermore, free time is frequently consumed by household chores and screen-based entertainment. To cite an example, an office worker who spends forty mintues commuting each way may prefer watching television after dinner instead of going to gym.

To combat with problem, both employers and individuals have a significant role to play. To exeplify, companies could arrange physical activity by providing flexible breaks, standing desks, on-site fitness facilities. Even short time periods , such as a ten-mintue walk between meetings, can help employees develop healthier habits.

In conclusion, lack of exercise among working people is mainly caused by sedentary jobs, long working hors and busy lifestyles. However, this problrm can be tackled through supportive workplace policies, improve public facilities and simply daily habits. If both employers and individuals take responsibility, regular physical activity can become a natural part of everyday life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant and logically structured. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention 'sedentary nature of work' and 'household chores', these points could be expanded with more specific detail or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The solutions provided, such as 'flexible breaks' and 'on-site fitness facilities', are practical and directly address the problem. Overall, the response covers all requirements of the task, though the depth of explanation is consistent with a mid-range performance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow. For example, the phrase 'To combat with problem' is slightly awkward and lacks a determiner. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the reasons from the solutions, which helps the overall readability of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'sedentary', 'elucidate', and 'exhausted'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'tiem', 'Mnay', 'ot', 'phsically', 'exeplify', 'hors', and 'problrm'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not generally impede communication. To improve, you should focus on proofreading your work to catch these slips. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, but the lack of precision and the recurring spelling mistakes prevent a higher score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'people can not get tiem for your own's life' (incorrect pronoun usage) and 'simply daily habits' (should be 'simplifying'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are instances of missing articles and incorrect word forms. The errors are frequent, but they rarely impede the reader's understanding of your main points. Increasing your control over basic grammar and refining complex structures will help you achieve a higher band.
