Student answer (Band 6.5)
Many people who are working do not get sufficient time to exercise during the working hours or in their free time which results in a number of health-related issues. There are certain factors which contribute to little or no time for exercise like the working environment or personal negligence.
The work environment in most of the countries is very hectic and keep the employees fully occupied. Many people can not manage to take out time in their tough schedule and get tired after job hours to do some exercise. This eventually results in a sedentary lifestyle which can negatively affect the health. Moreover, on weekends, they have a lot of work to manage at their homes which leaves no time to involve in physical activity. Busy routine makes a person lazy and inactive which leads to sedentary behaviour. They prefer to spend quality time by watching TV or using social media while relaxing instead of doing exercise or walking. These habits contribute to heart diseases like hypertension, atherosclerosis and musculoskeletal issues like weak muscles and joints.
Governments should encourage workplaces to dedicate some time specifically for wellness of employees which can include breaks for walking or group exercises. They should also initiate awareness campaigns reflecting on the importance of exercise and healthy lifestyle. Moreover, there should be more community centers where people can access these facilities which motivates them to engage in group activities.
In conclusion, a balanced approach that combines an individual effort with workplace support is the most effective way to live a healthy and happy life. This leads to a prosperous society which is physically and mentally well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented, such as the mention of 'hectic' work environments and the suggestion for 'awareness campaigns'. However, the development is somewhat limited. While the points are clear, they could be extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. For instance, the discussion on 'personal negligence' is introduced but not fully explored. Overall, the response is well-focused and maintains a clear position throughout, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.5 or 7.0, but it lacks the depth of development required for a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'This eventually results in', and 'In conclusion' are used effectively to link sentences and ideas. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the flow of the argument is consistent. While the use of cohesive devices is functional, it is not particularly sophisticated or varied, which keeps the score at a solid Band 7.0 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary used is generally accurate and sufficient for the task. The student employs topic-specific terms like 'sedentary lifestyle', 'hypertension', 'atherosclerosis', and 'musculoskeletal issues', which demonstrates a good range. There are no significant errors in word choice that impede communication. However, the range is not consistently 'wide' or 'sophisticated' enough to reach the Band 8 level. Some phrasing is slightly repetitive, such as the use of 'time' and 'exercise' multiple times. Overall, the lexical resource is adequate and precise enough for a Band 6.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There is good control over basic grammar, and the majority of sentences are clear. There are some minor errors, such as 'keep the employees' (should be 'keeps') and 'involve in physical activity' (should be 'engage in' or 'participate in'). While the student attempts complex structures, the control is not entirely error-free. The punctuation is generally correct, and the errors present do not impede the reader's understanding. This performance is consistent with the Band 6.5 descriptor.
