Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern era people prefer to enjoy their life without giving to extra burden to their body which causes them different health problems. The essay will discuss why people do not spare leisure time for exercise and how we can overcome it.

Most of the corporate employees or business owners drained their all energy at work place in result when they reach home they just want to relax and watch the movie or have a fun in which they do not need to spend more energy. In addition, on weekends they get a enough time for physical activity but they did hard work thought out the weekdays so they prefer to spend quality time with their family members by visiting famous places. Moreover, some people work at night shifts so during the morning time they spend their time to sleep.

To over come this problem we can take this steps. Firstly, all companies should encourage their employees for physical exercises by providing gym membership because there was one research conducted by well known university shows that if employees are physically fit and active then they perform well as compare to other staff. Secondly, family member should make strict rule such as go for a 30 minutes walk after dinner which is good for their physical health as well as they spend more time with their family members instead of westing their time on mobile phone.

To conclude, less energy after work and spending time with family on weekends could be the reason why the people who work are not able to do exercise, but to solve this companies can provide gym membership to their employees or family can go for regular walk to live healthy life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as work-related exhaustion and the role of corporate initiatives. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the suggestion for family members to enforce rules is a good idea but could be expanded with more detail on how to overcome the psychological barriers to exercise. The position is clear throughout, and the response maintains a consistent focus on the topic, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.0 performance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In addition', 'Moreover', 'Firstly', and 'Secondly', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the phrase 'in result when they reach home'. While the overall progression is clear, the use of cohesive devices is not always sophisticated or entirely natural, placing this in the Band 6.0 range.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common collocations, such as 'corporate employees' and 'physical activity'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'drained their all energy', 'westing their time', and 'to over come this problem we can take this steps'. These errors do not impede communication, but they demonstrate a limited range and occasional inaccuracy, which is characteristic of a Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Most of the corporate employees... drained their all energy'), article misuse, and awkward sentence construction ('there was one research conducted by well known university shows that'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. The grammar is sufficient to communicate the message but lacks the control required for a Band 7.0.
