Student answer (Band 6.0)

Exercise is very important for a well being to stay healthy and fit. Nowadays, everyone is so busy in their workplaces, in their jobs that they do not get time to exercise. As a result of this, they are getting lots of the health problems. The impending paragraphs will discuss the reasons why working people get less exercise and some solutions to this problem.

To begin with, office jobs is the first notion. As we all know that technology has reduced the half of the human jobs. The people working in offices just sit on the single for 8-9 hours and complete their tasks on the laptops. Even now they do not have to travel place to place for the meetings or tours , all the things can be done through google meet or video call. Furthermore to extend my thinking, busy schedules is the second reason. People are so busy in their jobs and personal life that they keep ignoring their physical health. All of them have to awake up early in the morning and by the time they reach home they are so tried that they just want to sleep and relax their mind. Sometimes, individuals are tried that they donot want to cook something at home and order the unhealthy food from outside. Hence, everyone in this world living a very unhealthy lifestyle. As individuals not have enough time to invest on themselves and live a life that is all focused on the computers.

There are many ways in which this problem can be solved from which fixed schedule is the first. Individuals should try to create a timetable for them according to their daily life. This will help them to give some time to their body and they can focus on their health. Furthermore, everyone should follow a diet chart and avoid eating the unhealthy food and give some time to themselves.

Overall, I would like to say this is not a big issue and can be solved easily if we give sometime to ourselves. As there is a saying to Every problem has its own and a unique solution.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation of why people do not exercise is limited to 'busy schedules' and 'office jobs,' which are common points but lack depth or specific examples. The solutions provided, such as 'create a timetable' and 'follow a diet chart,' are quite generic. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations or concrete examples of how these solutions could be implemented in a real-world context. The position is clear, but the overall development of the argument remains basic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with,' 'Furthermore,' and 'Hence,' which help the flow. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Furthermore to extend my thinking.' Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, in the phrase 'Every problem has its own and a unique solution,' the pronoun usage is slightly confusing. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved by ensuring each sentence builds more effectively on the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'physical health,' 'well-being,' and 'unhealthy lifestyle.' However, there is a lack of variety and precision. Phrases like 'do not get time' and 'very important' are quite simple. There are also some minor collocation errors, such as 'reduced the half of the human jobs' and 'awake up early.' To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and idiomatic expressions that are appropriate for a formal essay, while ensuring that word choices are accurate and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow. Examples include 'office jobs is the first notion' (subject-verb agreement), 'sit on the single' (missing noun), 'individuals are tried' (incorrect word choice for 'tired'), and 'as individuals not have enough time' (missing auxiliary verb). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with sentence boundaries and word forms. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately without missing auxiliary verbs or prepositions.
