Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays most of the people are so busy and having hectic schedule which results in affecting their health because they don't care about their health and don't even do exercise and meditation as well. There are myriad reasons why people are not aware about their health that i will discuss in upcoming paragraphs

To begin with, exercise is very important for human body to stay fit ,safe and healthy. People are not developing interest in doing physical activities either they are free or doing work because they started being lazy and not wake up early in the morning for the exercise .For instance, teenagers in this present era, stays wake up till late night and go for night outing and parties which results in waking up late which resuLts in, they will not feel active whole day. Hence, they don't even do exercise .This is the main reason that they are not having proper and fix schedule.

Moreover, most of the people who are doing full-time jobs don't have enough time for themselves so that they can take care of them. They take so much stress and worries for their work which affects their health and results in having various diseases .To illustrate this, if a person is not doing yoga or exercise daily , they will face serious consequences regarding their health issues such as obesity , depression and more.

In conclusion, there are so many ways to tackle this problem. What government needs to do is to organise multiple exercise camps to the societies for the people so that they can aware about their health and learn about the consequences of not doing physical activities for their good health . Moreover, people should also take initiative to improve their irregular schedule and balance it so that they can give some of their time for themselves to improve their health .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation regarding teenagers staying up late is a bit tangential to the general 'working people' focus of the prompt. The solutions provided in the conclusion are relevant but could be more detailed; suggesting 'exercise camps' is a good start, but explaining how these would be implemented or incentivized would have strengthened the response. The position is clear, but the overall depth of analysis is limited, keeping this in the mid-range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing. For instance, the transition 'Hence, they don't even do exercise' feels slightly abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, but the paragraphing could be improved by ensuring each paragraph contains a more cohesive development of a single main idea rather than shifting focus mid-paragraph.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'health', 'exercise', and 'people'. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'obesity' and 'depression', there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'fix schedule' instead of 'fixed schedule' and 'take initiative to improve their irregular schedule'. The range is sufficient to communicate the message, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility or sophistication required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('teenagers... stays wake up'), article usage ('the people'), and awkward sentence construction ('results in, they will not feel active'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. More attention to proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would be beneficial.
