Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the link between diet and exercise is mentioned but lacks depth, and the explanation regarding mobile phone usage is repetitive. The ideas are relevant but could be extended with more specific examples or logical progression to reach a higher band. The position is clear throughout, but the overall development remains basic, fitting the criteria for a band 5.5 to 6.0 range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'The first and foremost one', 'The second reason', 'the first one is'). There are instances where the flow between sentences is disjointed, such as the transition between the diet discussion and the mobile phone point. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the concluding paragraph is quite brief and does not effectively summarise the main points, leading to a score of 5.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, such as the repeated use of 'energy', 'things', and 'good'. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'doing practice' instead of 'exercising' and 'protiens food'. Spelling errors like 'perpare', 'thier', and 'genrate' are frequent and occasionally distract the reader. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the presence of errors in basic vocabulary prevent a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Everyone like to watch'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('they do not taking good protiens food'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with run-on sentences and missing commas. While the meaning is usually clear, the high frequency of errors and the lack of complex structures limit the score. To improve, focus on sentence variety and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy.
