Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as professional/family responsibilities and the suggestion of workplace wellness initiatives. However, the development is somewhat repetitive; the first and second paragraphs cover similar ground regarding time constraints. While the position is clear, some points, such as the specific benefits of yoga, are slightly tangential to the core issue of 'why' people do not exercise. To reach a higher band, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported idea rather than restating the problem.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the problem from the solutions. Cohesive devices like 'Therefore', 'Apart from that', and 'Consequently' are used to link ideas, though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The progression of ideas is generally clear, although the connection between the introduction and the first body paragraph could be smoother, as they repeat the same points about work-life balance. Overall, the text is easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common items like 'pivotal role', 'proactive steps', and 'well-being'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'disturb their normal sleep' (should be 'disrupt') and 'access them to enhance' (should be 'enable them to enhance'). Some phrasing is slightly unnatural, such as 'foster employees to spend less time'. Expanding the range of precise collocations would improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'which preventing them', 'disturbed food intake address diseases') and article usage (e.g., 'joining the yoga and the meditation classes'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are slightly clunky. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher band. Focusing on consistent verb forms and article usage would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
