Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as busy schedules and the impact of technology, and the solutions, like workplace fitness initiatives, are practical. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the example of the USA organization is a bit vague, and the explanation of why technology prevents exercise could be more nuanced. The position is clear throughout, but the overall depth of analysis is limited, which prevents it from reaching a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Despite', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by mechanical or awkward transitions, such as 'Despite, this situation can be teckel'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the use of cohesive devices is occasionally repetitive or slightly forced. While the overall progression is coherent, the management of cohesion is not always smooth or flexible.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'explicated', 'amenities', and 'reiterated'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'ratio of health disease' (instead of 'incidence of health problems'), 'weather' (instead of 'whether'), and 'teckel' (instead of 'tackled'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not prevent the message from being understood.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'numerous number of youth workers who prefer to watch videos in their phone' and 'which make them unfit'. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, preposition usage, and article placement. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent and occur throughout the text, indicating a lack of control over more complex grammatical structures.
