Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary era, majority of the working people don't do exercise in their daily life which paves the way for the numerous life risking issues related to their health. In this essay i am going to talk about the reasons behind this and what steps can be taken to solve this issue.
One major reason is that people have too busy schedule. This is because people have soo many other demanding jobs and key responsibilities. For instance, they work long hours, they have to commute, look after kids and many more. Therefore, after doing all these important chores they left with less energy and will to do exercise.
To tackle this problem people should learn time management skill. This is because this skill will allow them to allocate their time at right place. For example, people will make time table and give their precious time to the best needed activities. As a result, people will end up wasting less time and get enough time for their exercise in their daily life.
In conclusion, people have busy schedule which stops them to do exercise while that can be solved with the time management skill.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for inactivity and suggesting solutions. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which severely limits the depth of the response. The ideas are presented in a very basic manner; for instance, the explanation of 'time management' is superficial and lacks concrete, real-world examples that would demonstrate a more thorough development of the topic. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and specific examples to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive answer.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices such as 'One major reason', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion'. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical, and the transitions between sentences are repetitive. The overall structure is logical, but the lack of length prevents the development of a more sophisticated flow. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph contains a more nuanced development of the central idea.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'too busy schedule' and 'important chores' are functional but lack the precision and range expected at higher levels. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'they left with less energy' (should be 'they are left with'). To improve, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to health, lifestyle, and time management, and focus on using more natural collocations to express your ideas more fluently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'majority of the working people' (missing 'the'), 'i am going to' (should be capitalized 'I'), and 'stops them to do exercise' (should be 'stops them from exercising'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and ensuring that complex sentence structures are grammatically accurate.
