Task-2

In today's era, life has become so fast paced that it is very difficult for common people to balance work and health. However, almost every working person has no time for exercise either during the working day or in their leisure time. Consequently, it has lead to many health problems as well. In this essay, all the reasons along with the solutions of this problem will be discussed.

To begin with, according to experts, almost 60% of working people are working 9-5 jobs but I believe that 9-5 jobs are just for the sake of the name. In heavy metropolitan cities, if we add all the time including traveling time etc, it would roughly add 2-3 hours on average. In addition, the work is not just limited to the office hours. Most of the employers are also working at their home after the working hours. Also they have to spend their precious time with their loved ones. So, it becomes very difficult for people to spare time for exercise.

Furthermore, this lack of time for exercise has a serious effect on workers. It has lead to many serious health issues like obesity, high cholesterol, low eye-sight etc. I believe the managers should understand that the employers must have a balance between work and life. They should not give work to them after office hours. In addition, companies can open gym facilities in the office campus itself. So that in their free time or breaks, workers can do exercise which will make them relax and healthy. Whereas, people can also buy gym home equipments which can be useful in their free time or weekends.

To conclude, I believe having work-life balance is utmost important nowadays. People barely find enough time for sleep or exercise. Although, these are the important aspects of an individuals life. Both the individuals and high authorities in company should be responsible for taking care of this problem on their own levels.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the mention of 'low eye-sight' as a consequence of not exercising is not logically sound, which weakens the argument. While the solutions (gym facilities, home equipment) are relevant, they could be expanded with more depth or specific examples to reach a higher band. The essay covers all requirements but remains somewhat superficial in its analysis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the reasons from the solutions. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there is occasional misuse of referencing, such as 'It has lead to' (referring to a lack of time rather than the health issues themselves). Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. The student uses some topic-specific terms like 'work-life balance', 'metropolitan cities', and 'office campus'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'for the sake of the name' (which is an awkward idiom here) and 'employers' when the context clearly refers to 'employees'. The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but lacks the sophistication or precision required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, most notably the repeated use of 'It has lead to' instead of 'It has led to'. Other issues include 'gym home equipments' (equipment is uncountable) and 'an individuals life' (missing possessive apostrophe). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. The control of grammar is generally consistent, but the frequency of these minor errors prevents a higher score.
