Student answer (Band 6.5)
The issue of little or no exercise among several individuals during working hours or their free-time has resulted in health problems. I think this is as a result of the physical demanding jobs that most people engage in. However, this can be controlled by the authorities through the implementation of policies prioritizing the importance of people's health and fitness schedule at workplaces.
First and foremost, one of the major factors limiting the exercise done by people during or after working hours is the stress acquired from physical demanding jobs. When individuals engage in activities at workplace that drain their energy, they tend not to be interested in any form of exercise in other not to add body pains to the hectic day at work. As a result, they prefer to rest at any limited free time they see in for them to regain strength for other activities. For instance, Individuals in fields related to engineering, construction, mining usually engage in little or no exercise due to the physical demanding nature of their job. Therefore, stress acquired from energy demanding jobs is a major factor discouraging the masses from engaging in exercise.
On the other hand, government can control this little or no exercise practice in people by reviewing the laws guiding individual labor especially in physically demanding sectors such as work hours reduction, division of labor to reduce stress as well as selected days in the week for fitness routine. When policies like 4 days weekly routine with selected hours for exercise at workplace are been introduced and implemented with the compliance of employers, people will get used to it overtime and as result it reduces the risk of health problems. Furthermore, the prioritization of people's well being such as HMO and work hours reduction can also encourage people to engage in fitness because they will have more time to relax and engage in other activities beneficial to their health.
In conclusion, stress derived from demanding jobs usually result in little or no exercise by several individuals leading to several health problems but this can be controlled by implementation of policies and introduction of fitness routines as it reduces the health risks associated with lack of exercise.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument that physically demanding jobs are the primary reason for inactivity is a strong point, but the examples provided (engineering, construction) could have been expanded to explain the psychological or time-management aspects more deeply. The solutions proposed, such as a four-day work week, are relevant but could be supported with more specific detail on how they would realistically be implemented in various industries. Overall, the response covers the requirements well but lacks the depth of analysis required for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main questions. Cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'On the other hand', and 'Furthermore' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'this little or no exercise practice', which is slightly awkward phrasing. Despite these minor issues, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'implementation', 'compliance', and 'prioritization'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'stress acquired from' (better: 'stress resulting from') and 'in other not to' (a grammatical error that also affects lexical clarity). The range of vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning, but it lacks the precision and sophistication needed for a higher band score. More varied synonyms for 'exercise' and 'demanding' would improve the overall quality.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'in other not to add' (should be 'in order not to'), 'government can control' (should be 'the government'), and 'are been introduced' (should be 'are being introduced'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are some awkward phrasings that suggest a lack of control over complex structures. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice constructions.
