Student answer (Band 5.5)
Today in modern time many people did not get proper time for exercises. They spent lot of time while sitting on chair. The main reason of this problem is that most of population doing office work and they just spend their days seven days in front of computer afterwards they face many serious health problems.
I have some solutions by which working people can do exercises in their busy time. First of all they have to take care of their lifestyle.People have to focus on time management. Like they have to give divided time to both work and exercise.
After that companies also have to make some important further steps for employees. Like they can build exercises rooms in the office and they have to give extra hours by which employee can do exercise because if the employees of the company are totally fit and they can also increase the productivity.
Governments- the third responsibility is of government. They should have to make new parks and gyms in every city. By which they can attract more people towards workouts.
The fourth solution is that they can arrange seminars in the offices by which they make awareness about the benefits of exercise and with the help of this working people get knowledge about exercise.
In conclusion- busy schedules, long shifts and lack of knowledge are the main factors people are not doing exercise.Governments, institutions and individuals all have to play vital roles to make exercise part of daily life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for inactivity and suggesting solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited. The points made, such as 'time management' or 'building exercise rooms', are mentioned but not sufficiently explained or supported with detailed examples. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the overall task achievement. To improve, you should expand on your points by providing specific scenarios or explaining the 'why' and 'how' more thoroughly to meet the word count and demonstrate a deeper engagement with the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'First of all', 'After that', 'The third responsibility', 'The fourth solution'). The progression of ideas is clear, but the transitions between sentences could be more sophisticated. Additionally, the paragraphing is a bit fragmented, with some very short paragraphs that could be better integrated into a more cohesive flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'do exercises', 'give extra hours', and 'make awareness' are functional but lack the precision and variety expected at higher bands. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic language. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to health, workplace culture, and urban planning, and focus on using more natural collocations rather than simple verb-noun combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('on chair', 'in front of computer'), incorrect verb forms ('most of population doing'), and punctuation issues. Complex structures are attempted but often contain errors, such as 'By which they can attract more people towards workouts'. To improve, you need to focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and diversifying your sentence structures by incorporating more complex and compound sentences with accurate punctuation.
