Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation regarding why people work overtime focuses on financial necessity and career advancement, but the link to health is stated rather than deeply explored. The solution section is also quite general, relying on the idea of 'higher salaries' and 'breaks' without discussing the broader cultural or structural changes needed. While the response covers all parts of the task, the ideas could be extended with more specific examples or nuanced reasoning to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Commencing with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, some of these transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural in context. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, the phrase 'aforementioned domains' in the conclusion does not accurately refer back to the specific reasons or solutions discussed. While the overall structure is logical, the flow between sentences could be improved to make the connections between ideas more seamless.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their points clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'phenomenon', 'subsequent', and 'divergent', though some of these are used with slight inaccuracies in collocation (e.g., 'divergent bonus'). There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'Law maker' instead of 'policymakers' or 'legislators'. The range is sufficient to communicate the message, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'a good health leads to happy life journey' (missing articles), 'rather than to do exercises' (incorrect infinitive usage), and 'companies should gave' (incorrect verb tense). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments and comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures, which is a characteristic of the 5.0 to 6.0 range.
