Student answer (Band 5.0)

In todays era work has become a big issue for every ones life because everybody needs money and day by day expense are growing higher.

People in todays world has no time for themself because of hectic work and they do not even have time for there heath and for the family. There working hours have become more and if they wish to remove spare time of their own they cant. Even young generation started working in very young age and they do not have time for their heath. Moreover, if we notice that restaurants are growing day by day and people are not taking care of the heath because of work load.

Well here I would like to suggest that by hook or crook they should give time to themself because many of the population in the country are facing lot of heath problem. So the basic idea is any how they should remove one hour for the exercise to keep themself fit, so in future they do not any heath issue. However if we notice even youngsters should focus on heath because if we see todays generation are not heath conscious and they growing fat.

So as my point of view exercise is very important in life it keeps your body and mind perfect and will always feel fresh and fit. So its should be compulsory in everyone life that day to day they go to gym and keep one day off and be more keen on the health so they live longer. And more thing do not take to much stress on the work all give spare time to ourself.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For example, the reasons provided focus almost exclusively on 'hectic work' and 'no time,' without exploring other factors like sedentary technology use or lack of motivation. The solutions are also somewhat simplistic, relying on general advice like 'by hook or crook' and 'go to gym.' To improve, you should provide more specific, well-supported examples and explore the causes and solutions with greater depth and analytical detail to move beyond surface-level observations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. Transitions are often repetitive or misused, such as the frequent use of 'So' and 'However' to start sentences, which creates a mechanical feel. Referencing is sometimes unclear; for instance, the phrase 'if we notice that restaurants are growing' does not clearly link to the topic of exercise. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices, they are often used inaccurately or in a way that does not effectively connect ideas. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'todays' (today's), 'themself' (themselves), 'heath' (health), and 'there' (their). The range of vocabulary is narrow, relying on simple phrases like 'big issue,' 'growing day by day,' and 'keep themself fit.' To achieve a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and collocations, while also ensuring accurate spelling and word choice throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'People in todays world has no time' (subject-verb agreement) and 'there working hours have become more' (incorrect word choice). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with apostrophes and comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and the lack of complex sentence structures prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and sentence variety will be key to improvement.
