Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the modern era everyone is busy in their own life they are just working or following their daily schedules but main problem is many person who are working dont get their exercise properly during the working day or in their relax time its really effect their health issues.so,i want to explain why they do not get exercise or what can be done about problem

Firstly, nowadays everyone just want to earn more money so they are busy with their work after work they get tried so they dont try to do excerices in their life because they think it is a waste of time .

Moreover , people are lazy now because they just like to do things while sitting and want to spend time on other things for example, modern gadgets like mobile phones , laptops , games distract the mind of individuals so they just focus on that instead of exercises.

However, its create so many problems in individuals life so individuals need to avoid laziness or try tried to do exercise on free time to think about their body because without give any stress to body it creates so many heath issues which really effect in the future instead of new era for example according to survey in 2020 its find that who are doing exercise in their free time or after work they are much healthier that other so this is much important to solve this solution.

In my option, i just want to say that everyone has busy time or hardworking life but exercise is much important that anything else because its effect the life directly.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided (busy schedules, laziness, and technology) are relevant but lack depth or specific, well-explained examples. The solutions section is particularly underdeveloped, as it relies on vague suggestions like 'avoid laziness' without offering concrete, actionable strategies. The position is clear, but the overall argument lacks the necessary detail and logical expansion required for a higher band score. The response is somewhat repetitive in its phrasing and lacks a formal structure.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'However' are used, they are often applied mechanically or incorrectly. For instance, 'However' is used to introduce a paragraph that does not contrast with the previous one. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is disjointed. The lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive nature of the sentence structures hinder the overall coherence of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms such as 'busy', 'work', 'exercise', and 'things'. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'its really effect their health issues' (should be 'affect') and 'instead of new era'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the frequent misuse of basic collocations prevent the response from reaching a higher band. More precise terminology related to health and lifestyle would improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('everyone just want'), punctuation errors (missing spaces after commas and periods), and awkward sentence construction. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with occasional attempts at complex ones that are often grammatically flawed. For example, 'its find that who are doing exercise' is syntactically incorrect. These errors are frequent and occasionally cause the reader to pause, although the overall message remains understandable.
