Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided, such as 'busy lifestyle' and 'competition', are mentioned but not fully explored or supported with depth. Similarly, the solutions are somewhat repetitive and lack specific detail. The introduction is brief and contains several errors that obscure the intended meaning. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and concrete examples, ensuring that the connection between the problem and the proposed solution is more clearly articulated throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed due to the frequent misuse of cohesive devices. For instance, the transition 'Although, working hard and earn money is significated' is grammatically incorrect and does not logically introduce the paragraph on solutions. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'these' in 'Because of these there are serious health issue'. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'Firstly' and 'In addition', the overall flow is mechanical and occasionally confusing, which hinders the logical development of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'hetic' (hectic), 'liesure' (leisure), 'seriours' (serious), 'prepactive' (perspective), 'paraghapy' (paragraph), 'sloution' (solution), and 'conculde' (conclude). These errors are noticeable and occasionally impede the reader's understanding. The word choices are basic, and there is a lack of precision in expressing complex ideas. To improve, you should focus on learning the correct spelling of common words and expanding your vocabulary to include more precise terms related to health, lifestyle, and work-life balance, rather than relying on simple, repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by grammatical errors. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'there are serious health issue got them', and incorrect verb forms, such as 'people not able go'. Punctuation is also problematic, with frequent run-on sentences and misused commas. The high frequency of errors in basic grammar—such as articles, pluralisation, and tense consistency—significantly impacts the clarity of the writing. To improve, you must focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips before attempting more complex structures.
