Student answer (Band 6.0)

Now a days with new working culture and having work from home options, I strongly agree that many of working people now a days do very little or no exercise or when they are free and because of this they are having many problem related to health issues.

Now a days with new technologies and new meeting tools such as Zoom, Team meeting, Webex etc , organisation preferring these meetings remotely though internet. Because of this many times these meeting are back to back and also because of different time zones these meeting are organised early working hours or late working hours. As a result their routine life disturbed eating habit and routine also changed and because of this getting health issues as hyper tensions, fatty lever, lipid profiles not balanced.

These meeting are necessary and many times can not be avoided as need to meet organisation goals because of customer quick demand and conclusions for any discussions or decisions. As if company does not respond timely with customers in those circumstances , customer will move to different vendors who are more quick in response and in decision makings.

To manage the time and cover the different time zones, organisation can think about a common solutions as to arrange the meeting in a day for common time so that respective decision making team can be available. Need to schedule the meeting either early morning only for one of regions team but evening time should be free for particular that team or vice-versa. So that working people get their free time either in morning or evening and can spend time to do exercise , yoga.

In my view working people should make a proper time management and a schedule time to do exercise in a week at least for 3-4 days with to meet their health goals as well besides meeting organisational goals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention remote work and back-to-back meetings as reasons, the explanation of health issues is a bit repetitive and lacks depth. The solutions provided are relevant but could be more fully extended with concrete examples of how companies might implement these changes. The position is clear, but the overall argument would benefit from more sophisticated reasoning and a more formal tone to fully meet the requirements of a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'because of this' is used multiple times). Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words such as 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' or 'in light of this.' Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be more cohesive to guide the reader more smoothly through your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, but it is often repetitive and lacks precision. Phrases like 'new working culture' and 'getting health issues' are functional but basic. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'fatty lever' (should be 'fatty liver') and 'more quick' (should be 'quicker'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific collocations and less common lexical items to demonstrate a more flexible command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Issues include missing articles ('in those circumstances'), incorrect verb forms ('organisation preferring'), and awkward phrasing ('as to arrange the meeting'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve your accuracy.
