Student answer (Band 5.0)
many working people not exercise is the most commonly issue in the modern days because mostly people are lazy due its diet and eating time table. our elders have much time to execute their time table make things perfect like go to bed early to wake up early in the morning if somebody wake before the sun rise he have so much time to exercise and follow his schedule all the day like take healthy breakfast early in the morning take his exercise or running after that go to work and take his lunch around 1 pm and after evening he take his dinner like 6 to 7 pm and go to bed for sleep. but in the 2026 mostly generation is lazy or sick to follow any time table or daily routine. they mostly eat junk food like piza burgers and bakkery itoms these are mostly un healthy and only make for taste not for health on the other hand our elders eat simple and healthy food wich make them stronger. the new generation have social media like whatsapp facebook tiwitter and many more wich they use in their free time to enjoy so that they didnt need to go outside or meet thier frtiends and like in park or any other place they have acces to reach from thier home or office by the advancement of the tecnology. working people should follow the rules wich our elders follow from decades like eraly to bed early to rise and eat healthy ang manage time table to get some time for their own health.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development is limited. The ideas are somewhat repetitive, focusing heavily on the comparison between 'elders' and the 'new generation' rather than exploring broader societal factors like work-life balance or sedentary office environments. The suggestions for solutions are also quite general, relying on the advice to 'follow the rules of our elders' rather than providing concrete, actionable strategies. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific examples and ensure a more balanced exploration of the prompt's requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks paragraphing, which is a significant issue for coherence. It is presented as a single block of text, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt to link ideas, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often repetitive (e.g., 'and', 'like'). There is no clear introduction or conclusion, and the transition between the causes of the problem and the proposed solutions is abrupt. To improve, you must organize your response into distinct paragraphs for the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, and use a wider variety of linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, often relying on informal or imprecise terms such as 'lazy', 'sick', and 'stuff'. There are frequent spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'piza', 'bakkery', 'itoms', 'wich', 'tecnology', and 'eraly'. These errors occasionally make it difficult to understand the intended meaning. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to health, lifestyle, and work, and pay closer attention to the spelling of common words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'mostly people are lazy', 'he have so much time'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses. The sentence structures are predominantly simple or run-on sentences with poor punctuation. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which are necessary for higher band scores. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper capitalization, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, punctuation, and mastering subject-verb agreement to improve your accuracy.
