Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, an increasing number of people do not exercise neither in working days nor in leisure time, and experiencing a severe health issues. Although it has several reasons such as busy life and lack of interest, I think that it can be improved by revealing the significance of exercise.
To begin with, the major reason behind not doing exercises for people is hectic schedule. As they have demanding work schedule especially for who those from urban areas, they barely get free time for themselves and it furthers reduce their tendency in exercises. As a result, they do not prefer to do physical movements. Moreover, individuals do other household work in free time. Sometimes they are the only adults in the homes, so they have to work in house after working in offices or they save their to spend with their families. Consequently, they struggle to keep time for exercises.
Moving forward to solution side, this issue can be resolved by some changes in daily life. Primarily, people should get familiar themselves with the benefits of exercises. When they know that making no involvements in physical activities can cause adverse health problems in future, they will prefer to do regularly in their life. Also, people must create a work life balance. Since they will do work for certain time period, they will have more time to manage personal time too. Therefore, they will do participate in exercises. To cite an example, working above 8 hours is illegal in Norway. The government of Norway implement this rule strictly in their country so that citizens can have time for personal as well as professional life

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of hectic schedules and the need for work-life balance. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why people do not exercise is clear, but the solutions could be more deeply explored with more specific examples beyond the Norway reference. The position is clear throughout, and the response maintains a consistent focus on the topic, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs for reasons and solutions, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'Moving forward', and 'Consequently' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are occasional issues with referencing and sentence flow, such as 'it furthers reduce their tendency in exercises'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the overall structure would benefit from more sophisticated linking to reach a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'hectic schedule', 'work-life balance', and 'adverse health problems'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'making no involvements in physical activities' and 'do participate in exercises'. The range is sufficient to communicate the message, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage, such as 'do not exercise neither', 'for who those from', and 'government of Norway implement'. Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. The writer demonstrates an attempt at complex structures, but these often contain minor errors that slightly impede the flow of the text.
