Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as hectic work schedules and the distraction of social media. However, the development of these points is somewhat superficial. For instance, the suggestion that local authorities should 'do events' is vague and lacks specific detail or examples of how such initiatives would realistically change behavior. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your arguments with more depth and provide more concrete, illustrative examples rather than listing general ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic progression of ideas from causes to solutions. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'So' and 'Therefore'. Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'So they are completing their own work,' which does not clearly connect to the previous point about youngsters using phones. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'hectic schedule' and 'health-related problems'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'do the rest' instead of 'rest' or 'do events to aware them' instead of 'raise awareness'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on common words. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' missing before 'exercise'), subject-verb agreement ('all wants to be rich'), and word forms ('using phones in limit'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors that occasionally interrupt the flow. To achieve a higher score, you should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and attempt to use a wider variety of complex structures with greater precision.
