Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the reasons why working people lack exercise and offering solutions. Your position is generally clear throughout the essay. However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed and lack extended specific examples. For instance, mentioning 'gym and dietery restrictions' or 'pickleball and badminton' are relevant, but these points are not fully explored to demonstrate their direct connection to the problem or solution. To reach a higher band, ideas should be extended with more detailed explanations and fully realised examples. Nevertheless, all prompt requirements are covered adequately, placing the response solidly in the band 6 territory.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and body paragraphs that separate reasons and solutions. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore', 'However', and 'Additionally', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or awkward, as seen in 'On the other hand' at the very end of the essay. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct themes. Referencing is generally clear, though occasional awkward phrasing affects the flow slightly. Logical progression is maintained throughout, but finer control over cohesive relationships would be needed for a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used provides an adequate range for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'hustle and bustle', 'corporate life', and 'brain fog'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'feel lethargy' instead of 'feel lethargic', 'efforts throughout the day' instead of 'energy', and 'relentness work situation' which appears to be a misspelling or misuse. Spelling errors like 'dietery' and 'develope' also occur. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and participial phrases such as 'most working people enduring the hustle and bustle... do not get free time'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward structures, such as 'which results into health issues' (should be 'results in'), 'people feel doing exercises due to relentness work situation' (which is grammatically incomplete and confusing), and 'keeping healthy yourself' (should be 'keeping yourself healthy'). Punctuation and sentence boundary issues also appear, particularly in the incomplete final sentence. These errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader.
