Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing the reasons why working people do not get enough exercise and proposing relevant solutions. The position is clear throughout, and relevant ideas are presented, such as demanding work schedules, heavy workloads, and the distraction of mobile devices and social media. The solutions offered, including workplace stretching routines, company fitness challenges, and government-backed walking and cycling campaigns, are logical and adequately address the problem. However, the development of some ideas is limited and relies heavily on personal anecdotes rather than fully extended general arguments. For instance, explaining the daily routine is somewhat repetitive and detracts from broader analytical depth. Nevertheless, all prompt requirements are fulfilled, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptor.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the essay into an introduction, body paragraphs for reasons and solutions, and a conclusion. Basic cohesive devices and transitional phrases are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Moving further', and 'To Conclude'. However, paragraphing and referencing are sometimes faulty and mechanical. For example, paragraphs are occasionally broken up awkwardly with unusual line spacing, and referencing phrases like 'Like I explaine my self example' disrupt the natural flow of ideas. Cohesive devices are at times over-used or inaccurate, creating a choppy reading experience. Overall, the organizational structure is visible and generally logical, but cohesion lacks flexibility and precision, fitting the Band 5 to Band 6 profile.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but range and precision are limited. The student attempts to use less common vocabulary and phrases such as 'contemporary world', 'multifaceted approach', and 'prominent reason', but these are accompanied by frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'lifestyle' written as 'life style', 'everyone' written as 'every one', and 'persnol' instead of 'personal'. Other lexical inaccuracies include 'made reels' instead of 'making reels' and 'employeer' instead of 'employer'. While these errors do not severely impede communication and meaning is generally clear, the heavy presence of basic spelling mistakes and awkward collocations keeps the score at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is weak. There are frequent errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure throughout the response. Examples include 'a tremendous number of change are taking place', 'in nowadays every one very busy', 'this problem dose not have simple', and 'It required multifaceted approach'. Punctuation is also problematic, with incomplete sentences and run-on structures such as 'The main problem is that any one have time that time open phone and scrolling reels'. Although simple sentences can be understood, the high frequency of basic grammatical errors causes noticeable difficulty for the reader and prevents the writing from reaching a higher band level.
