Overall5.5

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task, examining both the reasons why working people do not get enough exercise and suggesting solutions. The student provides relevant ideas, such as long working hours, workplace stress, and the distraction of social media, and supports them with examples like office culture and youth in India. However, some ideas are slightly repetitive, and the solutions, such as banning certain social media apps, border on unrealistic, which reflects a Band 6 level of development. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of extension is limited in places.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement and logical paragraphing, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'For example', and 'In Conclusion', though some transitions are mechanical or inaccurate (e.g., 'To mitigate it, governmnet should take step'). Referencing is generally clear, but the flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing and repetition. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, placing each main idea in its own paragraph, fitting the Band 6 descriptor well.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'insomnia', 'obesity', and 'competitive era'. However, there are numerous word choice, spelling, and morphological errors throughout the text, including 'governmnet' instead of government, 'ristricted' instead of restricted, 'then' instead of than, and 'authotities' instead of authorities. These errors do not impede overall communication, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5, showing a mix of adequate vocabulary alongside noticeable inaccuracies.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, and preposition use, such as 'most of the individuals are unable', 'youth are get distracted', and 'working hour to seven or eight per day'. Punctuation is also erratic in places. Because the frequency of errors is high and affects basic sentence patterns, the grammar performance aligns closely with a Band 5 descriptor.
