IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Many working people get little or no exercise either during the working day or in their free time, and have health problems as a result.
Why do many working people not get enough exercise?
What can be done about this problem?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many working people Nowadays do not get enough exercise, either because of the strict schedule/demands of their jobs or because they are too tired to be physically active after their work time to contibute time in their leisure time . This lack of exercise can lead to various health problems. There are several reasons for this situation, and both employers and individuals can take practical steps to address it.
To begin with ample of employees work long hours and have demanding schedules work pressure and competition with targets they have to accmplish, leaving them physically and mentally exhausted at the end of the day because of long working hours infront of comouter with very little to not sufficient break time to make them self to have some fresh air or a activity where they feel active.
There are several possible solutions to this problem. First, employers should encourage workers to be more active by providing facilities such as gyms or bicycle parking . Many employees are motivated to exercise and make adjustments to their daily commute to incorporate physical activity into their routines. However, commuting to a gym can be challenging, especially for employees whose residences are located far from nearby fitness centers. The additional travel time and inconvenience can make it difficult for them to exercise regularly. Employer must have a meeting with HR team and arrange some facilities and adjust work schecule of employees.
To conclude , long working hours, tiring commutes and increasingly work demands are major reasons why many working people do not exercise enough. However, employers, governments and individuals can all contribute to solving this problem by making physical activity more accessible and incorporating it into people's everyday routine. This will leave a great impact on work resuts too as fit employees are much more tend to be less tirng than employees with no physical activities.
