Student answer (Band 6.5)

A large number of working professionals avoid excercising throughout the work days, and also when they have spare time. This practice often results in several health conditions. The prominent cause of this neglect is their hectic work schedule or them being lazy. Although it can be solved by careful weekdays planning and by proper health education.

The primary cause of this problem is busy working life. People often commute longer distances to work, and return late during while working. They are either tired or irritated from their jobs. Also this affect their sleeping schedule due to longer working hours. This gives them less or no motivation to spend time exercising. Furthermore, during the free time they just want to catch up with the sleep deprivation. They prefer to relax or watch something to ligthen their moods.Often they are found eating junk food. All this accumulates toward issues with their wellness.

There could be several fixes to this problem. They can start with carefully planning their daily chores, and add a little time for workout or at least for some basic exercises. For example, during their breaks at work they can do streching, or walking. Moreover, most of the workplaces have fitness centres nearby or if the workplace really cares about its employees they can set up a small workout area in the establishment itself. Hence the employees can easily use these fitness places to priorotize their health. In addition, the workplace can organize some seminars to educate their peers about the significance of excercises in daily life.

In conclusion, the terrible work routine can put an individual at a risk of diseases, because of the fatigue and inconsistant sleep cycles, but they can enhance their fitness by simply adding simple exercises to their routine and with the help of their employer.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by exploring the causes of why working people lack exercise and offering practical solutions. The candidate successfully identifies factors such as long commutes, fatigue, and work schedules, and proposes actionable measures like daily planning, workplace fitness areas, and educational seminars. The ideas are relevant and supported by examples, such as doing stretching during breaks or setting up small workout zones. However, the introduction contains a noticeable error where the second sentence is an incomplete fragment ('Although it can be solved...'), which slightly limits the full development of the thesis statement. Nevertheless, the main parts of the prompt are covered adequately, earning a solid Band 6.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay presents a clear overall arrangement with distinct paragraphs that logically separate the introduction, causes, solutions, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as 'Furthermore,' 'Moreover,' and 'In addition,' although some referencing feels slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct themes. However, there are minor cohesion flaws, such as the abrupt transition in the introduction where the sentence structure breaks down. Overall, the flow is coherent and logical throughout, satisfying the requirements for a Band 7.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The candidate demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, successfully using terms such as 'working professionals,' 'hectic work schedule,' 'sleep deprivation,' and 'significance of exercises.' There are several spelling and word choice errors, including 'excercising' (exercising), 'ligthen' (lighten), 'streching' (stretching), 'priorotize' (prioritize), and 'inconsistant' (inconsistent). While these errors do not impede communication, they reflect limitations in precision and spelling control, placing the response firmly at Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms. The writer attempts complex structures using subordinate clauses and conjunctions, such as 'Although it can be solved by...' and 'if the workplace really cares about its employees they can set up...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues, including sentence fragments ('Although it can be solved by careful weekdays planning and by proper health education.'), misuse of articles, and preposition errors ('during while working', 'during the free time'). These errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, but communication is generally maintained, resulting in a Band 6.0.
