In this busy world, people are prioritizing their work as a necessity and often forget about their health. Many working professionals do little or no exercise, either during the working day or in their spare time, and as a result, they face various health problems. This essay will discuss the main reasons for this issue and suggest some possible solutions.
To commence with, working professionals unaware of how physical activities are beneficial to balance healthier lifestyle. As a result, they do not consider exercise an essential part of their daily routine. Another reason is the lack of proper recreational facilities where working professionals can exercise and spend their free time. In many areas, there are not enough parks, gyms, or sports canters where people can exercise after work. For example, some working professionals may have to travel a long distance to find a suitable gym or sports facility. Therefore, they may prefer to stay at home and watch television or use their phones instead of exercising.
There are several ways to tackle this problem. Firstly, they could spend 20–30 minutes walking, jogging, or doing simple exercises before or after work. For example, they could go for a walk in a nearby park after finishing their working hours. This would help them stay physically active and reduce the risk of health problems. Secondly, community has to arrange some awareness programs and events so that people get to know exercise can contribute positively towards not only maintaining their physical health but also to their mental health. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by identifying why many working people do not get enough exercise—specifically citing a lack of awareness and a shortage of accessible recreational facilities—and suggests practical solutions, such as incorporating short exercise sessions into daily routines and organizing community awareness programs. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay. The ideas are extended and supported with relevant explanations and examples, such as walking in a nearby park. While some of the supporting points could be further elaborated, the task response is well-rounded and fully satisfies the requirements of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay displays a clear overall progression and logical organization. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, the causes, the solutions, and a concluding section, although the inclusion of an extra fragmented paragraph at the end slightly disrupts the structural flow. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'As a result', and 'Firstly' are employed to guide the reader through the text, though occasional mechanical or repetitive phrasing is present, particularly in transitions. Referencing is generally clear, and each paragraph has a distinct central topic.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common lexical items such as 'recreational facilities', 'physical activities', and 'awareness programs'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'working professionals unaware of how physical activities are beneficial' and 'conducting awareness seminar'. Spelling and word-form errors are also present, such as 'canters' instead of 'centres' and 'beneficial' where a noun or verb form might be required. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at varied structures including conditional and dependent clauses. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors that recur throughout the text. Examples include missing verbs or incorrect auxiliary structures, such as 'many employees not get enough exercise', fragment sentences like 'Therefore,' at the very end of the text, and grammatical awkwardness in sentences such as 'doing exercise can beneficial for their healthy life and it required long travel for facilities.' While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they affect the overall control of complex structures.
