Student answer (Band 4.0)

people often are very much engaged in their daily routine work so thaey get very little time for themselfs, many professional require 24 hours duty due to which neither they have family time nor they can eat proper nutritional food as required by their body for norishment, so as a result when theire people get free time they prefer rest over soem little exercise becasue they think they have been exausted already doing tiresome work so better not get exercise rather to take rest,

what there people can do is to take little time off from work and exercise a bit so that they could stay healthy and fit. As I am saying, there is a will, there is a way so if people are willing to change themselves, they have to make a way for themselves and do these exercises on time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response addresses both parts of the task by identifying causes, such as demanding work schedules and fatigue, and offering a solution, which is to carve out time for exercise. However, the ideas are severely under-developed and lack supporting examples or depth. Furthermore, the response suffers significantly from length penalties, as it contains only 143 words, falling well short of the mandatory 250-word minimum for Task 2. Because the task is only minimally accomplished due to length and lack of extension, it fits best within Band 4.0 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text lacks proper paragraphing, presented instead as two massive, run-on blocks of text. Cohesive devices are minimal and basic, featuring repetitive connectors like 'so that' and 'so'. There is a lack of clear logical progression and referencing, with vague pronoun use such as 'what there people can do'. Overall, the organization is faulty and difficult to navigate, characteristic of a Band 4.0 performance.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-choice errors that strain the reader, such as 'thaey', 'themselfs', 'norishment', 'theire', 'exausted', and 'there' instead of 'their'. While the student attempts some less common words like 'professional', 'nutritional', and 'exhausted', the high frequency of basic lexical errors keeps this firmly at a Band 4.0 level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the text. The writing relies heavily on lengthy, run-on compound sentences linked by commas and coordinating conjunctions, lacking accurate punctuation. There are frequent errors in verb forms, prepositions, and sentence boundaries, such as 'neither they have family time nor they can eat' and 'better not get exercise rather to take rest'. These frequent errors frequently distort meaning and hinder comprehension, aligning with Band 4.0.
