Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is true that many working people get little or no exercise either during the working day or in their free time, and have health problems as a result. A lot of people live for their work, as a result neglect their health and wellbeing. These can cause health problems like hypertension, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.
First and foremost, we live in a fast paced society where people who are not earning well are looked down upon and said to be lazy. The reality is most working class people do more work than they are been paid for. The ratio of hours worked to earnings is ridiculously low. Therefore, there is already not enough hours for leisure talk more of exercise.
Secondly, the cost of monthly subscription to a standard fitness center is rising and majority of people can only dream of enrolling. People would consider their income with the cost of maintaining such lifestyle which is unrealistic especially considering other financial responsibilities. For example, I grew up in a home where my father, an Orthopedic surgeon was the only income earner and a mother who was a housewife with three younger siblings. My father rarely had time to himself talk more of a family bonding and yet, we were a struggling middle-class family.
Overall, the first resolution would be for the Government to implement increase in minimum wage and also labor policies regarding standard work hours, including rest and exercise allowance. Measures should also be put in place through regulatory bodies and enforced on companies and Organizations to ensure employees take desired leave and off days.
In conclusion, Social awareness through Publishing houses, Instagram and other social media platforms should be prioritized to enlighten the public on the adverse effect of excessive working on health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by identifying reasons why working people lack exercise and suggesting solutions, such as government policies and social awareness. However, some parts are developed more fully than others, and the presentation of ideas can be uneven. For instance, the first body paragraph touches on long working hours and societal pressure, but the second body paragraph relies heavily on a specific personal anecdote about the writer's father rather than broad exploration of the economic factors. The position is generally clear, but the limited development in places places the response solidly within the expectations of this band level, where some ideas are well-intentioned but remain under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body, and conclusion paragraphs. Logical progression is visible through the use of sequencing markers like "First and foremost," "Secondly," and "In conclusion." However, cohesion can sometimes feel mechanical or faulty, particularly in transitions and referencing. For example, sentences such as "These can cause health problems..." lack a clear, precise antecedent for the pronoun, making the connection slightly weak. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to divide the introduction, arguments, solutions, and conclusion, but the internal flow within paragraphs could be smoother and better managed to reach higher levels of cohesive skill.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully communicating the main arguments regarding health, work hours, and financial pressures. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items and phrases, such as "fast paced society," "hypertension," and "financial responsibilities," showing an awareness of topic-specific terminology. Nevertheless, there are some inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and phrasing—for instance, writing "talk more of" instead of "let alone," or "implement increase" instead of "implement an increase." Spelling is generally accurate, and while these lexical errors and slight awkwardnesses are present, they do not impede overall communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are noticeable errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ("majority of people can only dream" and "a mother who was a housewife"), missing articles ("the Government to implement increase"), and verb form errors in passive constructions ("are been paid for" instead of "are being paid for"). While these errors persist across various sentence types, they rarely impede communication, allowing the reader to follow the intended message despite the structural inaccuracies.
