Student answer (Band 6.5)
In contemporary society, not working out or having a little bit of physical training has become a growing concern. This problem can be largely attributed to spending rest of the free time with famliy and also to carry out household chores. However, several measures could be taken to address its underlying causes.
Firstly, workers would not exercise in their leisure time because they want to spend it with their famliy. They usually prefer to play with thier children or help them with thier school work. Also, spending a few hours together helps to create a good bond among the family members. For instance, when an employee is back from his job he can help his child with an assignment or tutor him. Another reason is that office work often involves dealing with stressful situations throughout the day and it can affect the mood of an individual as well. Thus, they might not prefer doing an exercise instead watch a movie or a web series to lighten the mood.
To address the issue, several measures could be implemented. One of the solutions is to wake up early and go to the gym. Doing physical training in the gym just for an hour is usually enough to feel fresh and energetic for rest of the day and also studies shows that a person who goes to a gym daily has lower stress levels and usually have a good mood throughout the day. Moreover, they can make a schedule for training daily. For example, some people prefer working out in morning so they can go out for a jog or do yoga before getting ready for the work while others can do the same after they are home.
In conclusion, majority of working people do a littile or no exercise because either they are inclined to be with their family or they are too stressed after the work. However, these factors could be addressed through making a schedule to exercise and by joining a gym, which helps to reduce the severity of this issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses both questions and maintains a clear focus on why workers may avoid exercise and what they could do. It gives relevant reasons, including family commitments and stress after work, and proposes exercising before or after work, making a schedule, and joining a gym. The example of helping a child with an assignment makes the family point concrete. This meets the task well, but the causes and solutions are not equally developed: household chores are mentioned in the introduction but not explained later, and the gym recommendation is supported mainly by a general claim about feeling energetic and having lower stress. To strengthen the response further, explain how workplaces or daily routines could make exercise more practical, and develop the evidence for each proposed measure.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, a paragraph proposing solutions, and a conclusion that restates the main points. Ideas generally progress logically, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Another reason,” “To address the issue,” and “Moreover” help the reader follow the argument. The examples are placed alongside the points they support. Some linking is a little mechanical, however, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the discussion together. The opening also promises to discuss household chores, but the body does not return to that point, which weakens the connection between sections. Use more varied transitions and ensure that each idea introduced is developed in the paragraph that follows.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for explaining the topic, with relevant phrases such as “leisure time,” “stressful situations,” “underlying causes,” and “lower stress levels.” The writer also attempts more formal wording, including “measures could be implemented,” although some choices are unnatural or imprecise: “spending rest of the free time with family” and “doing an exercise” do not sound idiomatic, while “a good bond” is less precise than “strong family bonds.” Spelling errors such as “famliy,” “thier,” and “littile” are noticeable, even though the intended meaning remains clear. Aim for accurate collocations and proofread carefully; a more precise range of expressions would make the argument sound more fluent and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including reason clauses and examples, as in “because they want to spend it with their family” and “when an employee is back from his job he can help his child.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “studies shows” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “a person … has lower stress levels and usually have a good mood” shifts from singular to plural agreement. Articles and sentence construction also need attention in phrases such as “for rest of the day” and “instead watch a movie.” Review agreement, article use, and parallel sentence patterns, then proofread longer sentences to improve accuracy while retaining the range of structures.
