Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: describing the issue, explaining the impact on the community, and suggesting a solution. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a council. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the suggestion to 'make another solution' is vague. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific details, such as requesting a temporary skip or a specific collection schedule. Despite this, the purpose of the letter is clear and the requirements are met.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the task. There is a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'Also' is used at the start of two consecutive sentences). The transition between ideas could be smoother; for example, the link between the missed collection and the health concerns could be better connected using more sophisticated linking words like 'consequently' or 'as a result'.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'garbage' and 'issue'. While the meaning is always clear, there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. Phrases like 'make the another solution' are slightly unnatural. To improve, try to incorporate more formal vocabulary related to municipal services, such as 'refuse collection', 'sanitation', or 'rectify the situation'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('collection system of garbage are not coming') and article usage ('the smells of garbage'). Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity ('If you are facing any problem... so you should inform'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
