Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly describe the failure of the collection system, explain the negative impact on the neighborhood, and suggest a solution. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, the impact on health is mentioned briefly as a list of diseases without explaining the severity or the specific nature of the nuisance. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your ideas with more detail and ensure the tone remains consistently formal throughout the letter, as the current tone fluctuates between formal and slightly informal.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'secondly' to structure your points. However, the transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt, and the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in light of this'). The referencing is generally clear, but the connection between the problem and the proposed solution could be more tightly linked to improve the overall progression of the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'dissatisfaction', 'jeopardy', and 'systematic'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation that hinder precision. For example, 'garbage facility' is not the most natural term for a collection service, and 'wapers' (likely meaning wrappers) is misspelled. Additionally, 'front garden occupies with the waste' is grammatically incorrect and uses the wrong verb form. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise collocations related to municipal services would improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'Due to which all the waste litters' is a sentence fragment, and 'typhoid, cold and many more diseases' lacks a main verb. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'the garbage day'). To improve, focus on ensuring that your sentences are complete and that your punctuation is used correctly to separate distinct ideas.
