Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly describe the issue with the collection frequency, explain the health consequences for the community, and propose a solution. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a council. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of the health issues could be more precise, and the suggestion for a solution is a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with more specific detail or logical reasoning regarding the impact of the service failure.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'but', 'due to', and 'because of' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'due that some of families members'). Paragraphing is present, but the transition between the description of the problem and the impact could be smoother. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that pronouns clearly refer back to the intended nouns.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'notify', 'community', and 'infection'. However, there are several instances of awkward collocation and word choice, such as 'facing lots of health issue' (should be 'issues') and 'if this garbage collector facing some issue in their life'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that plural/singular forms are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('families lives', 'members are also suffers') and article usage ('in garden', 'in 4 days'). Additionally, there are issues with sentence construction, such as 'due that some of families members are also suffers'. These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, specifically verb tenses and pluralization, which will help increase the number of error-free sentences.
