Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You successfully addressed all parts of the bullet points by describing the irregular trash collection schedule, explaining its negative impacts such as mosquito breeding and illness, and suggesting that the council inspect the workers. Your response demonstrates a generally clear purpose appropriate for a formal letter to a local authority, reflecting characteristics of the higher band. However, certain ideas remain somewhat under-developed, such as the suggestion about council inspections, which lacks specific detail regarding what actions should be taken. Additionally, the opening greeting 'Dear Sir' is slightly informal given the instructions to use 'Dear Sir or Madam,' yet the overall coverage of the prompt is well-maintained and clearly meets the expectations for this level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your letter exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with a logical progression from stating the problem to describing its consequences and finally proposing solutions. You used appropriate paragraphing to separate your introduction, the description of issues, your suggestions, and your closing. While paragraphing and basic structure work well, some cohesive devices feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Apart from it' and 'From which you will get to know'. Referencing is mostly clear, though stronger transitional phrases would elevate the flow of ideas. Overall, the structure is easy to follow and meets the core requirements for clear logical organisation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You demonstrated an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, successfully communicating your message with common words and attempting some less common phrases like 'draw your attention' and 'carelessness regarding their duties'. However, there are noticeable lexical and spelling inaccuracies that reflect this band, such as 'accomodate' instead of 'accommodate', 'diagnose' instead of 'diagnosed', and 'maleria' instead of 'malaria'. Furthermore, word choices like 'take class of your employees' are unnatural collocations in this context. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they highlight the need for greater precision in spelling, word forms, and vocabulary choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your writing features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'If they come, they not collecting waste in a proper way.' You demonstrate some control over basic structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, auxiliary verbs, and prepositions. For instance, sentences like 'my neighbours and I suffering from last 1 month' miss the auxiliary verb and use the wrong preposition, and 'They have not any fix time' is grammatically incorrect. Punctuation and article usage also show persistent inaccuracies. These errors require some effort from the reader to decode the exact meaning, placing your grammatical control firmly within this band.
