Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the broad contrast between rising appliance ownership and falling housework time, and you include figures for several series. However, some key details are inaccurate or unclear: refrigerators began at about 2%, not 0%, and reached 100% by 1980; vacuum-cleaner ownership rose to 100% by 2000, not between 1940 and 1900. The overview also says washing machines and vacuum cleaners were the highest throughout, although refrigerators overtook them and later reached full ownership. The housework trend is broadly reported, but the reference to 1990 should be 1920. To make the summary more complete and reliable, select the main turning points and compare the three appliance trends accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate discussion of appliance ownership and housework. This helps the reader identify the two chart topics. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and several comparisons are difficult to follow because the series are mixed together. For example, the sentence beginning “by 1920” shifts from washing machines to vacuum cleaners and then uses “its” without a clear reference. Linking words such as “while” and “meanwhile” are repeated or used where the relationship is not clear. Organise the appliance figures in a consistent order, use one paragraph for the main trends and another for housework, and make pronoun references explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “percentages,” “increased,” “declined,” “stable,” and “per week,” so the main subject is generally understandable. There is also an attempt to vary wording with phrases such as “considerably increased.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “control of washing machine,” “started from ground,” “spending time in doing housework,” and “its ratio stable.” Spelling errors such as “vacume” and inconsistent forms such as “house work” also reduce precision. Use standard terms such as “ownership,” “the proportion of households,” and “housework hours,” and check spelling and collocations when describing trends.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses linked by “while” and “compared with,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence formation and verb forms appear in examples such as “Refrigerator was not owned by anyone with 0% but, considerably expand” and “only 10 hours spend by people.” Articles, plurals, and agreement also need attention, as in “40% household owned” and “washing machine and vacume were.” Capitalisation at the start of sentences and punctuation around linking words are inconsistent. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences for each trend, for example, “The proportion owning refrigerators rose to 100% by 1980,” and check tense and agreement before finishing.
