Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both charts and give a relevant overview: appliance ownership generally rose, while weekly housework fell. You also select useful figures, including washing machines rising from 40% to about 75% and housework dropping from 50 to around 10 hours. This meets the core requirements well. Some details, however, are less fully reported: the refrigerator reached 100% by 1980 and stayed there, while vacuum-cleaner ownership rose to 100% by 2000; these important plateaus and differences are not explained. The refrigerator began at about 2%, rather than 0%, and housework ended at approximately 11 hours. More precise reporting of these features, alongside the washing-machine dip around 1980, would make the account more complete and better supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a summary of the main trends, and separate discussion of appliance ownership and housework. This makes the information easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Additionally” and “In addition” help signal related points. However, the progression within the appliance paragraph is somewhat list-like, and several transitions (“Additionally,” “Furthermore”) perform similar functions rather than showing precise relationships. The overview also repeats the general trends that are restated in the final paragraph. To strengthen cohesion, group the appliance figures by their contrasting patterns—for example, the refrigerator’s early rise and plateau versus the steadier vacuum-cleaner increase—and use clearer comparisons between series.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a suitable range of vocabulary for describing trends, including “increased dramatically,” “increased rapidly,” “decreased significantly,” and “moderately.” These choices communicate the broad movements, and the meaning remains clear despite some inaccurate or awkward expressions. There are several spelling errors, including “owernship,” “declind,” and “climed,” and some collocations are unnatural: “time consumed in doing the housework” and “the hours ... left” do not sound idiomatic in this context. “Possession” is also less precise than “ownership” when describing household appliances. Aim for accurate, natural chart language and check spelling carefully; this would make your vocabulary more precise and controlled.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including a compound overview and sentences beginning with “Additionally” and “Furthermore.” Most ideas can be understood, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “it's percentage started” uses an incorrect pronoun and apostrophe, while “was increased” and “rised” show problems with verb form and tense. In “the numbers of hours ... decreased,” the plural subject does not agree naturally with the later singular construction, and “the hours spent ... was 50” also has subject–verb agreement trouble. The final sentence, “only 10 hours per week left,” lacks a suitable verb construction. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and agreement, and use complete clauses when describing figures.
