Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both charts and identify the main overall patterns: appliance ownership generally rose, while weekly housework time fell. Several figures are accurately reported, including washing machines at 40% in 1920 and 70% in 1960, and refrigerators reaching 100% by 1980. However, the overview is not fully precise: refrigerator and vacuum cleaner ownership were both at 100% in 2019, while washing machines were lower, at about 75%. The claim that every appliance increased “over the year” also overlooks the washing-machine dip between 1960 and 1980. Your housework account gives the starting value but says “10 hours per day” at the end; the chart shows about 11 hours per week. More accurate comparisons and clearer reporting of the final figure would strengthen coverage.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by discussion of the appliance trends and then housework. This makes the information easy to locate, and phrases such as “For washing machine” signal a change of focus. However, progression within some paragraphs is weakened by repeated references to “this percentage” and by long sequences of events joined with “then” or “to reach.” The overview also combines the 2019 appliance ranking with an unclear phrase, “The highest percentage is occupied by,” which makes the comparison less direct. Use clearer links to show contrast and change, and group related figures into concise comparisons—for example, the two appliances that reached full ownership and the washing machine’s temporary decline.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing trends, including “increased sharply,” “remained stable,” “decreased slightly,” and “falling significantly.” These choices help communicate the broad patterns. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “the highest percentage is occupied by,” “had its lowest number,” and “increased importantly.” There are also spelling errors in “wahsing,” “untill,” and “Vaccum,” which reduce accuracy. Take care to use standard chart language and distinguish ownership percentages from housework hours. More precise verbs and nouns would make the report sound more natural and help express comparisons without relying repeatedly on “percentage” and “amount.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “when” and “where,” and the main trends are generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, however. In “the percentage of households increased among every electrical appliances,” the plural noun phrase and sentence structure are not controlled; “every” should introduce a singular noun. The sentence about refrigerators—“to reach in 1980 100% which is this the highest figure”—has faulty word order and clause construction. There are also missing or misplaced punctuation marks, such as the space after the full stop in “70% .In 1980.” In the final sentence, “where it recorded” does not clearly refer to the year or the number of hours. Aim for more controlled sentence boundaries and check agreement, word order, and reference.
