Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response provides a summary of the main features, but it lacks precision in reporting data. For instance, you mention 'up to 40 percent' for washing machines in the early years, but the graph shows a much lower starting point. Additionally, the description of the second graph is vague, using phrases like 'almost the ratio is equal' instead of citing specific figures from the chart. To improve, ensure you select key data points (start, end, and significant peaks/troughs) to support your summary. The conclusion is also somewhat repetitive and does not add new insight. Focusing on accurate data extraction will significantly improve your score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'in the early ages' or 'in the early time'. The flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, making the progression of ideas feel a bit repetitive. While there is a clear attempt to structure the response with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, the logical links between these sections could be strengthened by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'these devices') is always clear and unambiguous.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'machines' and 'devices' repeatedly. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'starting era' and 'the ratio of washing machine was fluctuated'. To reach a higher band, try to use more specific terminology related to data description, such as 'ownership levels', 'proportion', or 'trend'. Additionally, ensure that you use the correct word forms, as there are several instances of incorrect usage, such as 'a gradually decreased was shown' instead of 'a gradual decrease'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder readability. Examples include 'the percentage... was increased' (passive voice error), 'refrigerator were not common' (subject-verb agreement), and 'it reached it's equilibrium' (incorrect use of apostrophe). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct tense usage will help improve your accuracy.
