Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response covers all key features of the charts, including the trends for the three appliances and the inverse relationship with housework hours. You successfully identified the main trends, such as the refrigerator reaching 100% and the significant decline in housework hours. However, the overview is slightly underdeveloped; it would be stronger to explicitly link the rise in appliance ownership to the decline in housework hours as a clear trend. Additionally, some data points are slightly inaccurate, such as the claim that the vacuum cleaner increased by 20% every year, which is not supported by the visual data. Ensure you report the data precisely as shown in the charts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs for the appliances, and a final section for the housework hours. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Overall', 'On the other hand', and 'In terms of', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'then after it remained stagnate'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the connection between the final paragraph and the rest of the text could be smoother to better emphasize the relationship between the two charts.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'invested', 'accomplish', 'fluctuations', and 'stagnate'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'electricals products' (should be 'electrical appliances'), 'accounted of' (should be 'accounted for'), and 'remained stagnate' (should be 'remained stagnant'). While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring the correct form of adjectives and verbs.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including missing articles ('in all house' instead of 'in all houses'), subject-verb agreement issues ('It is showed that'), and preposition errors ('accounted of'). Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as '50 hours required to complete work', which lacks a passive construction or a clear subject. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these minor errors indicates that you should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with articles and verb tenses.
