Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the charts, including the rise in appliance ownership and the decline in housework hours. However, the analysis is somewhat uneven. The description of the washing machine trend is slightly confusing, and the third paragraph lacks clarity regarding which appliance reached 100% (the vacuum cleaner is implied but not explicitly named). While the main trends are identified, the comparison between the two charts could be more explicitly linked to show the correlation between increased appliance ownership and reduced housework time. Overall, it addresses the task requirements but lacks the precision needed for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'In the year' or 'From the year'. The transition between the description of appliances and the housework hours is abrupt. While there is a logical progression, the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better referencing to ensure the reader clearly understands which data point is being discussed.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the reader to understand the trends described. You use some appropriate reporting verbs like 'surged', 'plummeted', and 'climbed'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'time invested during the houseworks' (should be 'time spent on housework') and 'it had been gradually seen a upward trend' (which is grammatically awkward). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('percentage of people... are reduces'), tense usage ('had been increased'), and article usage ('at the year of 2019'). Additionally, there are punctuation and spelling errors, such as 'it's' (possessive 'its' required) and 'remaned'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for tense consistency would be beneficial.
