Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered all the key features, including the rise in appliance ownership and the decline in housework hours. However, the report is slightly let down by some inaccuracies in data reporting. For example, you mention the washing machine ownership increased by 20% by 1960, but the chart shows a more nuanced progression. Additionally, describing the refrigerator ownership as '0' in 1920 is accurate, but your description of the vacuum cleaner reaching 100% by 2000 is a bit imprecise based on the visual data. Ensure you double-check the specific data points to improve the accuracy of your summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Looking from an overall perspective', 'To be more specific', and 'Moving ahead' to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor mechanical errors in punctuation and sentence structure. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the transition between the appliance data and the housework hours could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is always clear and natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main trends, using terms like 'sharp incline', 'drastically downward trend', and 'swiftly rose'. However, there are some word choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'amount of washing machine' (should be 'percentage of households with washing machines') and 'power conducted items' (which is not standard terminology). Spelling and word formation errors, such as 'applience' and 'initaily', also occur. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and proofreading for common spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the availability of vacuum cleaner were only to 30%') and tense usage. Some sentences are slightly disjointed, and there are issues with articles and prepositions. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring consistent tense usage when describing historical data.
