Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the graph, but the analysis is incomplete. You have described the refrigerator and vacuum cleaner trends, but you failed to provide any data or description for the 'hours of housework' trend, which is a key component of the prompt. Furthermore, the response ends abruptly mid-sentence, leaving the description of the washing machine incomplete. To improve, ensure you address all data sets presented in the charts and provide a complete summary that covers the entire timeframe provided in the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into an introduction and body paragraphs, which is a good start. However, the logical flow is hindered by the incomplete nature of the final paragraph. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Overall' and 'However', the transition between ideas is sometimes mechanical. The lack of a concluding summary or a fully developed final point makes the progression feel disjointed. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear focus and that you complete your sentences and thoughts before moving to the next point.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a basic range of vocabulary, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuated', and 'sharply', which is appropriate for this task. However, there are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'accounted' instead of 'account' or 'percentage', 'Vaccum' instead of 'Vacuum', and 'Wshing' instead of 'Washing'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology for describing trends and ensure you proofread for spelling accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'number of time spent' (should be 'amount of time'), 'showrd' (spelling), and 'at about 100 in 200' (likely meant 2000). The sentence structure is often repetitive, and the incomplete final sentence significantly impacts the grammatical integrity of the conclusion. To improve, work on subject-verb agreement and ensure that your sentences are complete and grammatically sound before moving on.
