Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task well. You have successfully identified the main trends for both the appliance ownership and the housework hours. The overview is clear and highlights the key inverse relationship between the two datasets. You have selected relevant data points to support your descriptions, such as the 0% to 100% rise for refrigerators and the decline in housework hours. To reach a higher band, ensure that comparisons between the two charts are more explicit; for instance, you could explicitly link the rise in appliance ownership to the reduction in housework hours to demonstrate a more sophisticated analysis of the data provided.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the two distinct datasets. You use a range of cohesive devices, such as 'In addition', 'Moreover', 'After that', and 'Furthermore', which help the reader follow the narrative. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. To improve, try to vary the way you introduce data points and ensure that the connection between sentences is more fluid. The referencing is generally clear, and the overall structure supports the information well.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Phrases like 'increased significantly', 'soared rapidly', and 'fluctuated marginally' are appropriate for describing trends in a graph. There are some minor issues with word choice, such as 'the use of washing machine' (should be plural or include an article) and 'over the periods' (which is slightly unnatural). While you use some less common vocabulary, further precision in collocation would enhance the quality of your writing. Overall, the vocabulary is adequate and allows for clear communication of the data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. Most of your sentences are clear and error-free. There are a few minor grammatical slips, such as 'the proportion of households with washing machine' (missing plural 'washing machines') and '65% percent' (redundant use of the word 'percent' after the symbol). These errors do not impede communication. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate a wider variety of complex structures, such as passive voice or participle clauses, to describe the trends more dynamically.
