Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main trends for all categories provided in the charts. The overview clearly highlights the inverse relationship between the rise in appliance ownership and the decline in housework hours. You have selected key data points to support your descriptions, such as the refrigerator ownership reaching 100% and the specific drop in housework hours. However, to reach a higher band, ensure that comparisons are more explicit; for instance, you could have directly linked the rise in specific appliances to the reduction in housework time to provide a more analytical summary rather than just reporting the data chronologically.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the appliances and the housework hours. You use cohesive devices such as 'in addition', 'moreover', 'after that', and 'furthermore' to guide the reader. While the progression is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the information is sequenced well. To improve, try to vary your linking phrases to avoid repetitive structures and ensure that the relationship between the two charts is more tightly integrated throughout the body paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information accurately, using terms like 'fluctuated marginally', 'soared rapidly', and 'accounted for'. There is an attempt to use less common vocabulary, which is generally successful. However, there are minor issues with word choice and consistency, such as 'the use of washing machine' (should be plural 'washing machines') and 'over the periods' (which is slightly unnatural). Expanding your range of synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' would help elevate the lexical score further.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively. Most of your sentences are clear and error-free, which allows for easy communication. There are a few minor grammatical slips, such as 'the use of washing machine' missing an article or pluralization, and '65% percent' where the word 'percent' is redundant after the symbol. Your control over punctuation is generally good. To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate a wider variety of complex grammatical structures, such as passive voice or more sophisticated subordinate clauses, while maintaining your current level of accuracy.
