Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to address the task but fails to provide a clear or accurate summary of the data. While it identifies the three appliances and the trend of housework hours, the description of the trends is highly inaccurate and confusing. For example, stating that the vacuum cleaner is 'very increase' or that the refrigerator 'does not increase' contradicts the visual data provided in the charts. The response lacks a clear overview of the main trends, and the information is presented in a disjointed manner that makes it difficult for the reader to understand the relationship between the rise in appliance ownership and the decline in housework hours.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks logical progression and clear paragraphing. While there is an attempt to separate the two charts into different sections, the internal structure of these paragraphs is chaotic. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'and than' and 'so it is'. The referencing is often unclear, making it difficult to follow the writer's train of thought. The overall arrangement of information is not coherent, and the lack of proper sentence structure further hinders the flow of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. There are numerous spelling errors ('parcentange', 'espacilllt', 'refrigrator', 'seond', 'counclude') and word choice errors ('same leaval of years', 'faster aplinces'). The writer struggles to use appropriate terminology to describe trends, relying on basic phrases like 'very increase' or 'very decrease' instead of more precise academic vocabulary such as 'significant growth' or 'steady decline'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that cause difficulty for the reader. There is a lack of control over basic sentence structures, with many sentences being fragmented or ungrammatical, such as 'The two chart are illustrate to electrical appliances'. Subject-verb agreement is consistently problematic, and there is a lack of complex structures. Punctuation is also misused throughout the text. While the meaning can occasionally be inferred, the high frequency of errors across all sentence types prevents the response from reaching a higher band score.
