Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. While you have identified some main features, the description of the second chart is incomplete and lacks detail. The overview is present but lacks clarity due to grammatical errors. To improve, ensure you provide a comprehensive summary of all data points and trends, and always meet the minimum length requirement to allow for full development of the information provided in the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the final section. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Overall' and 'In first line chart', but they are somewhat mechanical. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the lack of a concluding summary or a fully developed second paragraph makes the overall structure feel disjointed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, complete focus would enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely on basic verbs like 'rose' and 'increased' throughout the text. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'amount of time spent doing households' (should be 'housework') and 'it was consist' (should be 'consistent'). To reach a higher band, you should incorporate a wider variety of synonyms for trends and ensure accurate collocations. For example, instead of 'fluctuate', use 'experienced fluctuations' or 'showed a fluctuating trend'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('The line graphs illustrates') and incorrect word forms ('the percentage of refrigerator had dramatically increased'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence variety. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage for describing past trends, and attempting more complex sentence structures with accurate punctuation.
