Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all key features of the charts, including the trends for appliance ownership and the decline in housework hours. You have successfully identified the main trends and made relevant comparisons, such as contrasting the refrigerator's growth with the washing machine's fluctuations. However, the report could be improved by more clearly linking the rise in appliances to the decline in housework hours, which is a key analytical point. The data is generally accurate, though the description of the housework hours as '50%' is a misinterpretation of the unit (which is hours, not percentage). Overall, the task is well-addressed with a clear overview.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. The use of cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'However', and 'Subsequently' helps to guide the reader through the data. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the different categories of information. While the progression is generally smooth, some transitions between sentences feel slightly mechanical. The referencing is clear, and the overall structure supports the information well, making the response easy to follow throughout.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'experienced massive increase', 'declined steadily', and 'hovered around'. There is some attempt to use less common items, though some word choices are slightly awkward, such as 'ownerships of refrigerator' (should be 'ownership of refrigerators') and 'remained same' (should be 'remained the same'). The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but more precise collocations and a wider variety of descriptive verbs would elevate the score. Spelling is generally accurate throughout the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While there are several error-free sentences, there are persistent minor errors in articles ('the' refrigerator) and prepositions ('reached at 90%'). Additionally, there are some issues with subject-verb agreement and pluralization, such as 'ownerships of refrigerator'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do prevent the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on consistent article usage and ensuring that nouns are correctly pluralized when referring to general trends.
